ECONOMIC ACTIVITY


The Nasa work in agriculture and small scale production. For these people, the land represents more than half of their production. It is the essence of their life.The fight for the land is present in the history of the Nasa.

They cultivate maize and other products as beans, arracacha (a sweet root), cassava and peas. In cold areas, they grow potatoes and ullucos (another type of root). In recent years, they cultivate coffee and sugarcane.

ROUTNIES THE NASA WOMAN



The nasa woman gets up at five oclock. She takes a shower and prepares the breakfast for her family. She generally goes to work in the Thul Nasa (home orchard). Ofter that she does household tasks. After that do housework.


In the afternoon, the Nasa woman usually spins the wool for kniting mochilas, ruanas, capisayos and chumbes. In the evening, she rests for a while. She goes to bed at eight oclock.

ROUTNIES THE NASA MAN


The nasa man gets up at six oclock. He takes a shower and have breakfast. He generally goes to work in agriculture. After that do agricultural tasks goes to lunch.

In the afternoon, the Nasa man usually usually collects harvest as maize and coffe. In the evening, he rests for a while. He goes to bed at eight oclock.
